Select Chamber Choir is a mixed choir (guys & gals), under the direction of Denise Cotton, that meets every Wednesday during Block 3A and 3B. Members were selected by audition in the early Spring of 2020 to be members of the ensemble during the 2020-21 school year. In this class, students are exposed to collegiate and professional level choral music. This class is geared towards students wishing to excel in this genre and will likely continue singing past high school. This ensemble serves as an ambassador to the Lincoln Community and is available to perform for community functions. The choir performs at 4 concerts/year and various “run-out” performances outside of school. In February 2006, Chamber Choir performed the Mozart Requiem with UNL Choruses and Orchestra. In December 2007, Chamber Choir performed on an LPS Collaborative Concert with the Lincoln Symphony and in the spring of 2009, 2013 and 2017 performed on a collaborative concert in Lincoln with the Drake University Choirs. Chamber Choir had the honor of being chosen, by audition, to perform at the 2010 and 2013 Nebraska Music Educators Conference. The 2020-21 Select Chamber Choir features 44 top voices. Chamber Choir performs Friday, March 18, 2016– 11:00-11:50am for our local veterans at the Veterans Affairs Coffeehaus in the Veterans Health Care Center, 600 S 70th St. (See below for the invitation that was sent to the Veterans Community)

We will return to LSW immediately following our performance. Students are encouraged to bring a sack lunch to eat on the way there or on the way back to school. Students will be dismissed from their Block 2 class at 10:10am and will return to LSW by 12:45pm.

Students will wear choir robes for this performance.

Enter at the stop light on 70th Street which is at the north end of the VA campus. They can park and enter on the north side of the building and can come up the outside steps which they will be off the north parking lot.

The VA grounds are monitored by FEDERAL POLICE and speed zones are SLOW (25 mph then 15 mph) and there is radar in affect. If a speeding ticket is issued, it is a FEDERAL OFFENSE and the offender must appear in FEDERAL COURT. OUCH!!
