1. All students will come to school with only a yearbook and pen for signing.  NO SHARPIES!

2. All additional items will be taken from students and stored in the office during the day.

3. Students may bring cameras to school and can use their phones as long as they are using them appropriately. If students are seen using phones inappropriately they will taken and can be picked up in the office after school.

4. There will be no open gym on the last day of school.

5.  Dress code and school expectations apply to the last day of school.

Also, please be sure to tell your parents that there is no CLC on the last day of school.
Students and Staff — Are you ready for the FIRST Dawes End of the School Year Celebration Carnival? We will be having an exciting hour on Thursday from 1:35 to 2:30 followed by dismissal for the last day of school. There will be goodies to eat, games to play, and MORE!!

Student Council is meeting after school today and getting the final details together .  Work hard and finish strong so you can earn the rewards of a great final hour to close the 2012-2013 school year.
Attention Dawes choir members: Please be sure to return any music you have at home or in your locker to Mrs. Bogatz before school is out. Bring the music to the choir room or leave it in Mrs. Bogatz’s mailbox.
Thanks for a great year!Any boys interested in Boy Scouts should stop by the office to pick up information about a meeting this Friday night.

All lost and found items are sitting in the commons area.  Please stop by and see if anything belongs to you.  Anything not picked up by Thursday will be donated.

Congratulations to the Dawes Choir for their great performance last night, and a special thank-you to the teachers that sang with us. It’s been a great year working with you guys and let’s keep up the great work next year!

Also, tomorrow morning the 7/8 Grade Band and Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble will be going to two elementary schools.  Students will be loading the bus at about 7:45.  Please be aware that there will be more traffic in front of the school tomorrow as school is beginning.

Attention Student Council Members — Great Job last night on working toward our last project for Dawes that LAST Day of School Carnival.  Remember, next Wednesday we will be working from 3:15 until 5pm and we need ALL members to help.

Congratulations to the Dawes 7/8th Grade Band.  They received a Superior rating at our LPS All-City Band contest here at Dawes.  Also, thanks to all the staff who allowed students to come to special rehearsals for our contest preparations.

8th graders attending NE:  There will be a football meeting for parents and players this Thursday, May 9th in the Northeast auditorium at 6:30 p.m. This will be your opportunity to meet Lincoln Northeast’s new varsity head football coach” as well as the rest of the football coaching staff, pick up athletic packets and ask any questions you might have.
Any 8th grade girls interested in being on the NE golf team next year should attend a meeting today after school in the NE athletic office.  You don’t have to own clubs or know how to play golf to play on the team.
Student COUNCIL -  We need you to attend one of the final 3 meetings today, Wed. from 3:15 to 4:30. We have lots of plans, assignments, AND discussion to be ready for the last day of school FUN!!!!  Please contact Mrs. Sawyer if you are NOT coming to the meeting.

Tonight the Dawes 7/8th grade band will be performing here at Dawes in the north division of the LPS middle school band contest.  Our group performs at 6:30.  You are welcome to attend.  We ask that you have adult supervision if you come to the contest.  Good luck to the Dawes 7/8th grade band.

Both groups competed in the the LPS All-City Music contest last Thursday evening at Pound M.S. The orchestra received and Excellent rating and the Jazz Ensemble received a Superior rating. Both groups represented Dawes extremely well and received many wonderful compliments. We are very proud of your performances and accomplishments.

8th grade students who plan on attending Lincoln Northeast.  Tonight at 6:15  is FUTURE ROCKET NIGHT.  You are going to be able to see what Lincoln Northeast is all about and meet some new     people.  If you want to participate in clubs, athletics, music, or drama this is a great opportunity to meet coaches and teachers.  GO ROCKETS.
