Dawes Students Gain Real World Experience Through Job Shadowing
Several Dawes students had an amazing opportunity to job shadow professionals at several Lincoln Businesses. Over the past nine weeks students have traveled to local businesses such as Union Bank, Nelnet, and State Farm facilitated through a partnership between the Community Learning Center and Lincoln Junior Achievement. These experiences provided students the opportunity to meet and work with successful, motivated people who love what they do. It also provided them with real world applications to what they are learning and why they are learning in school. At the same time, students learned about different types of careers they might pursue and what knowledge, skills, and experiences are necessary to obtain such jobs.
