Math Homework will be sent home daily. It will be a worksheet, front and back. The front will be new material, the back will be review. Please check your child’s homework. Daily homework is a requirement of the Math Expressions curriculum. I expect the homework to come back, completed the next morning. I have also provided a folder for the homework, I expect that to come back daily also. Homework should not take more than 45 minutes…. if your child is experiencing frustration on homework, please write me a note and I will work with your student. The strategies that we be learning may be new to you, take this opportunity to have your child teach you the new strategy.
Study your Spelling words at home. Tests are on Thursdays. This year there will be an on level and above level. The children will have the opportunity to be on either list through pre testing that will be done on Thursdays.
Reading for at least 20 minutes a night will help with fluency. Ask your child questions about what they are reading to help with their comprehension skills. We will participate on Book It through Pizza Hut this year.
