Welcome!

CrystalGrowing up in the Lincoln and Hickman areas, I always had a passion for working with children. So I earned a Bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from Doane College and a Master’s degree in intercultural studies from Wheaton College. Later I added certification to teach ELL (English Language Learners).

I first taught at Eastridge Elementary and then at Lux Middle School before heading south…4,000 miles south…to Cochabamba, Bolivia. There I taught fifth graders atGoHuskers an international, Christian school. After almost 12 years of living at 8,500 feet in the Andes Mountains, I returned to Nebraska. I brought back with me only two suitcases and two, small dogs – Mowgli and  Chai Latte. While it was hard leaving my students and their families in Bolivia, I was thrilled to rejoin LPS.

My desire is to help students care about learning and learn about caring. I am delighted to be part of the Saratoga community where our students, families, and staff work together each day toward this goal.
