During these two day, we spent time exploring tubes and water! We also used ramps and tubes to make different pathways for balls and marbles.
Our 3rd quarter home visits are scheduled for Feb 8-26. During this visit, I will update you about your child’s progress in the classroom, answer any questions you might have, and complete a short activity if your child is present. Your child will pick a teacher they’d like to write and deliver a letter to using a tube! Please have at least one tube that your child can fit a rolled piece of paper in (toilet paper tube, paper towel tube, wrapping paper tube, etc.).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students are not allowed to bring Valentine’s cards, candy, or other items to share with classmates.

This week we continued our discussion about tubes and tunnels. We explored types of tubes that we could find at the hardware store and went on a tube scavenger hunt in the classroom. We learned that we use tubes everyday!
In small groups this week we worked on identifying and writing numbers, identifying words that start with the same sound, and used teamwork to put together floor puzzles.
Our social emotional curriculum introduced the word disappointed. We talked about what it meant to feel disappointed and we can do to calm our bodies down. We practiced putting our hands on our tummy and taking deep belly breaths.

We had a great first week back in preschool! This week we reviewed our rules and expectations in preschool. We practiced how to follow rules in the classroom and how to follow rules in the hallway.
During small groups, we practiced making letters and numbers with playdoh, making shapes on geoboards, and using positional words to describe the location of things.
Our social emotional curriculum focused on reviewing how to solve problems at preschool. We talked about asking friends nicely and using a timer. We also introduced the word frustrated and talked about what it means to feel that way.
