We started a new study this week! We are talking about how to reduce, reuse, and recycle in order to keep our planet clean and beautiful. This week we began by talking about what we already know about reducing, reusing, and recycling. We went on a trash walk around the school and picked up any trash that we saw and we talked about the importance of letting an adult pick up any trash that is outside.
During small groups the children counted junk items, made sculptures with junk items and used new words to describe them, and practiced predicting, counting, and writing numbers.
Our social emotional curriculum focused on ways that we could be kind to our classroom, the Earth, and our environment. We talked about how we could keep our classroom clean by picking up trash, cleaning the tables after a spill, and making sure that we use kind hands with our toys.
