Some people view questioning institutions as disrespectful. I happen to see it as the highest form of respect. I question things because I care, and I want to see them improve. I guess I never grew out of that stage of life when I ask “why?” all of the time. I just learned to mostly do it in my own head.
This link is to a company called Grockit. I’ve never seen their product (apparently they are developing a gaming system for learning) but I feel a kinship to them simply from their blog. They are pointing at the Emperor and he’s not as clothed as we would all prefer him to be. With posts like “Schools Make Students Like Factories Make Cars” and “Proof That Schools Are About Grading, Not Learning” they are exposing ugly truths, but only as they are working to change them.
It warms my heart.
