Fair Ways to Play and When Do Things Happen?

What a great week it has been! We have been working really hard learning how to share and play fair with our friends. We know how to tap a friends shoulder, say their name and then give them a toy or ask for a toy. We practiced sharing, trading and taking turns with our toys and activities. Please click on the link below to see the Second Steps Home Link about how to continue this learning at home.

Fair Ways to Play

In Creative Curriculum this week we continued our beginning of the year study. We had wonderful discussions about when things happen and what tools we use to know when things happen (clocks and schedules). Your student should be an expert on our preschool schedule now. Ask them what their schedule is at school and see what they can remember. We also just started to talk about who works at our school this week and how they help us. We had visitors come from around the school and talk to us about what they do to help us learn and stay safe. We will continue to learn about more people next week.

In our small groups this week we worked on letter ID, problem solving skills and following directions. We played ‘jumping beans’ to work on letter ID. We drew cards with letters on them and when we drew a jumping bean card we all got to jump. We worked on finding lids that matched our containers for problem solving. We had to look at shapes, sizes and materials they were made from. We practiced following directions by making gingerbread men out of our play-doh. We had many steps to roll, cut and decorate them.
