Finishing Up Tubes and Tunnels

Hello Families,

We finished up our Tubes and Tunnels study last week. We had a blast learning about the difference between tubes and tunnels and what they are used for. We also talked about people that use tubes and tunnels. We even had Ms. Bailey and Ms. Tristan play their tube instruments for us. We have learned so much! We celebrated all our learning with award presentations for the marble run’s that we made in small groups. We awarded the tallest marble run, fastest marble run and the marble run with the most tubes. Check out the pictures on the phots page.

We are starting our last study of the year this week Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. You can help us get this study started by talking with your child about trash ad garbage, where it goes and if your recycle have them help you sorting the materials. When you are outside if you notice trash on the ground you can point it out. Thanks for helping your child be aware of what they are noticing around them.

In Second Steps this week we we review classroom rules and procedures. We talked about how to be safe, respectful and responsible on the carpet and on the playground. We also reviewed our first safety lessons of the year; car safety, pedestrian safety, fire safety, gun safety and lockdowns. A lockdown is when we lock our doors to the classroom, turn off the lights and hide if there is something unsafe in the hallway (locks, lights, out of sight). We will be reviewing our social emotional and safety curriculum until the end of the year.

We are finishing up our last home visits these next 2 weeks. We are so thankful to all of you for welcoming us into your homes and allowing us to work together for a common goal for your child.
