Welcome to Cavett Elementary

Jeff Vercellino, Principal

Welcome to the Cavett Elementary School website. I am honored to be principal at Cavett working with amazing students, families, and a wonderful group of dedicated professionals. Our priority is to provide a high quality education for every student, every day. At Cavett our mission statement is, Teaching, learning, and caring to develop productive, responsible citizens.  Our motto is Cavett Cares!

Cavett Elementary School was built in 1995 with 66,934 square feet and a capacity of 448 students. It is a single level school built on 16.7 acres located just south of Pine Lake Road in southern Lincoln, near Southpointe Mall.  The school was named for Dorcas and Alva Cavett, two highly respected Lincoln educators.  A construction project during 2006-08 added 17 rooms to the building and increased capacity for enrollment to 750 students.

Cavett Elementary School serves approximately 700 children in our Preschool through Fifth grade program.  Our staff works closely in collaborative teams as well as with the administrative team to provide a focused program of instruction. Cavett staff work diligently to provide instruction for students at their success level, differentiating instruction so that all students are challenged and feel success.  At Cavett Elementary School, we provide a safe, orderly, respectful environment that promotes high levels of student engagement and performance. We honor the unique strengths, talents, and diversity of each of our students and dedicate our efforts to help them experience individual success.

We value the partnership with our parents and our community. Parents know their children best and this parent and school partnership is valuable in helping us to support the unique needs of students. We are fortunate to have an active and supportive PTO. The PTO offers many educational enrichment supports that provide opportunities and experiences for students that otherwise would not exist. The PTO allows parents multiple opportunities to become involved in different activities that support our students and school.

We hope you will take some time to explore our website to learn more about the opportunities that exist at Cavett.

Sincerely,

Jeff Vercellino,

Proud Principal of Cavett Elementary School
