School Improvement Action Plan — Bryan Community Focus Program
School Goal:
All students will improve their literacy skills in the areas of reading and writing.
Team SMART:
During the 2012-2013 school year, students will improve their writing skills in three targeted traits including ideas/content, organization, and word choice to increase by .25 on a 4 point scale as measured by the scoring rubric in quarterly assessments.
During the first semester of the 2012-2013 school year, students in Advisement classes will increase their enhanced reading time through teacher guided reading from a baseline of zero minutes to 15 minutes per week. Our ultimate goal is to show 913 hours of free reading school-wide by the end of the year.
During second semester, students in Advisement classes will move from 15 minutes a week of enhanced reading time through teacher guided reading to self-guided reading time.
