Brownell PTA Minutes

Feb. 5, 2013

Nicole Moreno called the meeting to order at 7:04pm. There were 16 in attendance.

Sheri Quirie read January’s minutes & they were unanimously approved.

Guest speaker, Tina Fardella (Brownell’s Social Worker) spoke about “What is Bullying?” She directed us to the LPS website for brochures. She shared how she works with students on developing social skills, dealing w/ anger, and other things. Bullying is taken seriously @ Brownell & a survey was given to 3rd-5th grad students. Some students meet weekly & go through an 8-12 wk. skill building course.

Kerri Peterson discussed the Treasurer’s report & that was unanimously approved.

Principal’s Report: Chris said there is another Dine Out @ McDonald’s on Feb. 26th. Just a reminder that the Dine Out money goes towards technology for classrooms.

President’s Report: Nicole said that spring fundraiser packets will go home 2/6 in Wednesday folders. There will be Cherrydale & Mixed bags again this spring. Parent/Teacher Conferences…PTA providing food on Tues (2/19) Book Fair will run the nights of conferences. Sign-up sheet went around for both of those items. Carnival Talk: **Kerri call snow cone guy
