50th Celebration and Carnival
This year, Brownell celebrates over 50 years of educating our neighborhood children. We will be celebrating on September 25th with tours of the building and a short program at 2:30pm. The carnival will begin at 5:30. There will be games, bounce houses, a dance party, mini car show, food, and more! Please join us for any and all of the activities scheduled to celebrate our anniversary! If you have further questions, please see your child’s upcoming Wednesday folders or contact the school office.

Welcome to the Brownell Elementary School website. I am honored to be the principal at Brownell Elementary School, working with a caring, dedicated staff to our students. Our priority is student achievement. Our Mission Statement says it all – Becoming your BEST in the Brownell Learning Community: Believe, Excel, Succeed Together. Brownell follows the principals of B.I.S.T (Behavior Intervention Support Team). B.I.S.T is a school-wide behavior management plan that increases student learning time, stops disruptive/hurtful behavior, and teaches skills that will lead to life success. Brownell Staff will partner with your child to develop skills to reach these goals.
B.I.S.T. Helps Students Work on These Life Goals:
- I can take good care of myself, even if I am mad.
- I can be productive and follow directions even if I don’t want to.
- I can be okay when others are not okay.
The Two Basic Rules of B.I.S.T. are:
- It is never okay to be disruptive!
- It is never okay to be hurtful!
