Welcome to Brownell

Brownell Elementary School named after the Herbert Brownell family, was dedicated in 1965.  The K-5th grade elementary school is located at 60th and Aylesworth Avenue in northeast Lincoln.  Brownell Elementary School became a Title I Targeted Assisted school in 2008 and became a Title Wide school in 2012.  Also, in 2008 Brownell became a Community Learning Center site with the support of The Northeast Family Center.  Students at Brownell are fortunate to have Physical Education, Music, Art, Technology and Media as part of their weekly rotation schedule.  For the 2016-17 school year there will be three sections of kindergarten, second, and fifth grade and two sections for first, third and fourth grade.

Brownell is fortunate to be a Community Learning Center.  We partner with Northeast Family center and are able to offer extended learning opportunities before and after school.  There is extending learning in the summer and during fall and spring break.  Check out the CLC tab for more information or call 402-613-7432.  Sheri Quirie is our site supervisor and can answer any questions you may have.

Brownell also has strong support from our P.T.O.  Our parents organize a fun and exciting fall carnival each year and support Brownell in everything from professional development for staff to field trips for students.  Please join us each month on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM to plan and organize a successful school year!
