About Me

Hello!

My name is Ms. Perez and I am very excited to begin the 9th  year of my teaching career. I am happily married and have two cats named Luna and Tux. I have been wanting to teach since a very young age and I can honestly say that working with students and teaching is a passion.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I moved to Grand Island, Nebraska when I was 16 years old. Shortly after, I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I fell in love with Lincoln where I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In the fall of 2011, I was able to teach and live in France for a semester as part of a teaching practicum. This provided me with some insight into another education system as well as the challenge of teaching students that spoke a different native tongue than English.

I returned to the states more motivated than ever. Right away I was given the opportunity to become a long-term substitute teacher. In the fall of 2012, I accepted a teaching position at Schoo Middle School. It am very happy and grateful that I did. I love my school and the staff that I work with. Most importantly I love what I do. I love to teach and I love math! I hope that I can impact the lives of my students in a positive way. My goal is that my students leave each day having learned something about math, about themselves and what they can accomplish.
