Students are studying Unit 1 Lesson 1 as they tested on the preliminary lesson on Friday the 14th. Students received new seats and new elbow partners (partners for some activities). Students completed some speaking activities, reviewing previous knowledge and we’ve been introducing new travel vocabulary. We did this by watching some short clips that go along with the textbook Avancemos 2. We discussed extensively travel in an airport for international travel. Students have notes on their vocabulary sheets. We also reviewed clothing vocabulary and students did a “suitcase” activity, drawing and labeling items for a trip and they wrote sentences describing what they have and why. When we do any writing activities those are completed in the classroom as my expectation is that they use the level Spanish they know now. I’m not expecting perfection, native speaker or google translate language. Students will have a vocabulary quiz this Wednesday, they will need to be able to know vocabulary, put them in order and also listen to vocabulary and answer questions.

Students are studying Unit 1 Lesson 1 as they tested on the preliminary lesson on Friday the 14th. Students received new seats and new elbow partners (partners for some activities). Students completed some speaking activities, reviewing previous knowledge. Students took notes on the preterite tense. To review this tense, a quiz was over the pink verb sheet, column 1 and irregular yo verbs (diamond – key), there were 3 new verbs, the others students have had over the last 2 years, but studying is still important for recall. In class we did several activities to review these verbs and we introduced column 1 of the vocab list vocabulary. We discussed the format of the quiz with a practice quiz on Thursday and the quiz was Friday.
