Español 2

  1. Warm-up – finding errors with a cityscape image and writing sentences in Spanish using current vocabulary. Practiced vocab with partner.
  2. Las Mapas – discussed vocab with a map and how streets are labeled and more than one building in a block etc. Practice with writing directions in Spanish. Completed 1. together as a class and students wrote it down. Completed numbers 2,3, and 4 with partner and then we discussed.
  3. Assignment – Complete numbers 5,6,7 by Friday! Quiz tomorrow.
  4. In class map activity – student assigned a partner and each has 1/2 of a blank city map (streets/blocks are drawn) Together students decided on names in Spanish for their shared streets (streets that cross from one half of the map to the other) and labeled them on their own map. Then students need to label the rest of the streets on their side in Spanish and draw and label 10 places using current and previous vocabulary in Spanish and then color their map. Students will continue with this tomorrow after the quiz.  End goal is to use their map and write directions for someone else to follow. This will be a writing activity and then a speaking and listening activity as students will follow others instructions.

Español 3

  1. warm-up with current vocabulary – social conciousness, persistance and adversity. Practice vocab with partner.
  2. Present Subjunctive notes – discussed certainty with indicative mood and uncertainty with subjunctive mood. Steps to conjugate subjunctive, endings, process of writing the present subjunctive and examples. Reference notes of verb spelling on back of vocabulary sheet. Worksheet – Discussed expectations and Students had 3 minutes in class to work. Worksheet due tomorrow beginning of class. Friday – Quiz – vocab, present subjunctive steps and conjugation. (not use of)
