Español 2

Discussed Classroom and LSE expectaions as well as academic integrity. Checked out a textbook for the student to take and leave AT HOME for resource/homework, etc. (currently the online textbook isn’t working…I’ll let you know when it is up and running) There is a class set of texts to use in the classroom.

Students are expected to study 15-20 minutes at least 5 mights a week…more if had a C or lower in last years class. Students are to earn 5 speaking points a week (to be entered every 2 wks). Points are earned by speaking to Maestra in complete sentences in Spanish using current vocab and grammar. They must be earned in the current week and made up if absent. Grades are often given for inclass work such as warm-ups, book work, speaking activities worksheet with video clips as well as homework and quizzes.

Students have a vocab and verb list which should have been filled out by now and they take notes both on the vocab sheet and in their notebook. The first quiz covered pages 1-9 which is all review from first year. (definite and indefinite articles, subject pronouns, ser, tener and adjectives and people vocab.

After the first quiz, Culture of Miami pp. 1,13 and C12-C13 and a video clip have been completed for a grade. We’ve reviewed gustar and places and foods as well as the verb ir. Listening practice with pp. 10-11 was completed the last 2 days and today students read pp 14-15 and completed Act 13 p. 16. If this activity wasn’t completed in class then it is homework.
