Spanish 1

Students worked on menu project. This is due Wed at the beginning of class for Test Grade. Students will present their menus for speaking credit. It’s important that descriptive words and sentences are used because they aren’t to just read the foods, but describe the menu. Students were given an info sheet and samples were shown. Instructions are below:

Español 1                                                          Proyecto del Capítulo 8

Imagine that you’re planning daily menus at a local restaurant. You need to create different lunch or dinner speacials for 5 days for your restaurant all in Spanish. Be creative and come up with five (5) tantalizing specials. Your specials must include a main dish, side dishes, beverages and desserts. Present them in an original and attractive manner. For additional food vocabulary, see p. R5 in your text. This project will be due at the beginning of class on ______Wednesday, April 14th_______. You will present your menu in Spanish for speaking credit, so be prepared to brag about your menu and restaurant in Spanish.

You will be graded as follows for a TEST GRADE ( 50 points)

You need to include:

1. Restaurant Name in Spanish- be creative – 2 pts.   2. 5 days spelled correctly-3 pts. 3. 5 different lunch/dinner specials (plato del día) this must include: main dish, 2-3 side dishes, desert and beverage -15 pts. Describe how the food is –  at least one unique frase describing  something in each special – 10 pts . 4. Neat and Illustrated – printed neatly or typed,easy to read ,pictures neat, drawn and colored, from magazines, or clip art- 7 pts. 5. Use of class time and project completed on time -8 pts. 6. Beyond the minimum- 5 pts. Appearance (originality, color) Prices in pesos   ( 12 pesos = 1 dólar US) , info about restaurant  (address,phone,history etc.).

Reviewed vocabulary from this paso and previous. Page 232, mientras, speaking activity for speaking credit, Act. 23  reading and writing. Listening practice for the Quiz on Wednesday.

Conversation – questions and excuses. This will be presented to Maestra tomorrow, students were given 15 minutes in class to finish writing and make sure each partner had a copy of the conversation so as to practice at home tonight for fluidity.
