Spanish 1

Today students started with ¿A dónde va el viajero? – review of past vocab, with an overhead with information and pictures. A worksheet with questions in Spanish guided them. We then reviewed food vocab before introducing new paso 2 vocab. Students are to memorize this commenting on food vocab tonight for homework.  Asi se dice p. 240 – pronunciation and comprehension. Act. 16 –listening practice and Act. 17 – reading practice– Calvin and Hobbes cartoon and questions in Spanish

1. Back from Spring break so students reviewed speaking with the preterite tense for 3 minutes with a partner about break and what they did. – points. We discussed pp 220-21 intro to chapter, before introducing the new Vocab p. 247 .

2. Students took Notes estar and tener in the preterite tense – added them to verb chart.

estuve, estuviste, estuvo, estuvimos, extuvieron

tuve, tuviste, tuvo, tuvimos, tuvieron

3. Practiced these verbs by reading Calvin p. 225 Act 6 and Así se dice same page. Act. 7 – listening practice.

4. We also practiced changing adj to  say really or extremely – ….aburrido (boring) = aburridísima —-drop vowel end of adj and add ísimo ….. Act 8 to practice –speaking.

Speaking activities for points were the beginning 3” warm-up, Act, 6 and Act. 8

Homework pp 64-65 1-4, vocab practice and memorize the first column of the vocab , especially the phrases!
