Monday – warm-up – preterit or imperfect? Vocab practice – spanish to spanish. preterit imperfect with sheet from Friday and then a legend and 2 short stories about seeing something happen and reporting it. Extra practice due Wednesday beginning of class if chose to do it.

Friday 4/5/19 warm-up – descriptive words and verbs. Game to practice descriptions using the imperfect tense. Notes parts of a story – beginning, middle and end. Fairy tale – clip and worksheet listening activity and discussion with story plot line. Worksheet preterit and imperfect – what form of verb and why using notes and completed with partner. 1-10 will finish on Monday.

Monday – Warm-up career characteristics and practice with partner. Subjunctive practice with sentences and discussed as a class after students wrote on the board. Contexto 3 and questions. Review for Test – complete Culture now wiht textbook and the rest is homework – Due Wednesday at beginning of class.

4/5/19 – warm-up describing career job characteristics. Practice with subjunctive p. 219 textbook. Review Contexto 1 p. 215, Contexto 2 p. 220 and comprehension and subjunctive questions. Speaking Act 11 p. 221.

Español 2

Thursday – warm-up with weather in the imperfect from notes yesterday. Review of ser and estar, uses and imperfect and preterit forms. Practice describing a character using the imperfect and previous vocabulary. Un torneo – preterit or imperfect and why? worksheet with partner and discussed. Codigo secrreto – worksheet using vocab and preterit/imperfect verbs – finish on own if didn’t finish in class. Story writing next week instead of Test. Planning in class on Wednesday April 10 and writing on Thursday April 11 (6th period – 3rd lunch).

Wednesday – preterit questions about day off. song with imperfect verb endings. Notes preterit v Imperfect in a story and cue words. Weather with imperfect – hand out.

Monday – Warm-up – vocab . clip of pop erruption. Mexico reading in Spanish and comprehension questions. Speaking activity – how were you when you were little? Game to practice imperfect verbs. small worksheet with partner practicing imperfect verbs.

Friday – Culture day – México.

Thursday (3.28)- warm-up using vocabulary. Translating sentences using vocabulary and imperfect tense. Review imperfect verbs. Game to review for quiz. Quiz 4.1.

  3. Telehistoria Completa and discussion questions – use of vocabulary and preterit and imperfect in telling of a Mexican legend, discussed as use of vocab in a story will be on quiz tomorrow.

Warm-up matching noun vocabulary with verb vocabulary. Game with imperfect verbs – English to Spanish. Speaking activity – what I was like when I was 8. Paragraph filling in correct verb in the imperfect tense – with partner. Tomorrow – show and tell using 3 different verbs and 3 items. Quiz on vocabulary and imperfect tense on Thursday.

Warm-up classifying adjectives as positive or negative qualities. Speaking about weekend in Español and discussion of random student generated words. suffixes – turning adjectives into nouns. Which quality do you have and why? speaking. Act 6 p. 218 using the subjunctive with verbs of hope. vocab practice. Have chromebooks charged for tomorrow. Quiz on Wednesday – all vocab and subjunctive with verbs of hope.

  1. warm-up – answering quesitons using the imperfect tense. Checked homework for completion (had been given some class time, needed to finish on own). Answers checked.
  2. Notes – irregular imperfect verbs.
  3. Please bring 3 items/photos of things you played with, listened too, read, etc when your were little (pre-middle school preferibly) STudents can bring their own items, or “borrow” from younger sibling or have photos or printed images. (I know that some may not have access to items from childhood and it can be made-up as well.) Students will show and tell in Spanish using imperfect tense and different verbs. STudents put reminder in their phone. Modeled by Maestra.
  4. Game using regular imperfect forms.
  5. Listening practice with song and imperfect verbs.

  1. Warm-up – synonyms and antonyms. Sentences.
  2. Contexto 1 p. 215. Several questions – discussion with partner for credit about the reading. Act 4 about the reading p. 216.
  3. Notes – verbs of Hope (esperanza) p. 217.
  4. Reading – Juan Luis Guerra p. 224 and questions.
  5. Song – by Juan Luis Guerra – listening activity for UWEIRDO, subjunctive forms and other words in Spanish. Discussed.

  1. Warm-up – using 4.1 vocabulary. Added some notes about stories.
  2. pp. 196-197 – discussing things in theater setting.
  3. Past participle – notes and practice with Act. 4 p. 202 (used in vocabulary).
  4. Pronunciation of vocab as a class and then reading – Vocab in context pp 198-199 and comprehension questions. Act 1 reading and replacing the image with a vocab word.
  5. Beginning notes of regular – ar/ -er/-ir verb endings in the imperfect (descriptive/used to do) tense.
  6. Practice with vocabulary pronunciation with partner.
  7. Quiz middle of next week.

  1. Warm-up using a few vocabulary words and correct grammar. Sharing with class.
  2. Finish presenting vocab and discussing. Vocab in context pp 212-213. Questionaire and partner work – what career?

  1. Reviewed classroom expectations and encouraged students to keep up on studying nightly and participating fully in class. Come in after school for help if need and I will write passes to sports, etc.
  2. Warm-up – what’d I do on vacation – using the preterit tense and level 2 vocabulary and grammar. Speaking with partner, asking follow-up questions. Everyone shared one thing they did over break.
  3. Short directions video in Spanish. Map activity – giving and following directions (from snow day). Filled out info sheet as completed activity and activity evaluation. Handed in.
  4. Filled in new vocabulary sheet Unit 4.1 (the bolded will be quizzed over and are in the book, the non-bold are extra words)
