My name is Brian Kabourek. I am a member of the Business & Social Studies Departments here at East High; and I also am the Head Coach for Cross Country and Assistant Coach in Track & Field.
I have been associated with Lincoln East since the Spring of 1991 when I did my student teaching. After that, I worked as an office para for a couple of years, and served as an in-house substitute teacher. I taught part-time for a couple of years until the middle school left East to become Lux. I moved over to Lefler where I taught for two years, and I’ve been back at East since 1996.
I am originally from David City, Nebraska; and I received my bachelor’s degree from Kearney State College, which is now known as UNK.
Although my parents still live in David City, I have two sisters, two brother-in-laws, four nieces, and a nephew that live here in Lincoln.
My wife, Andrea, is a graduate of Lincoln Southeast and Wesleyen University. The two of us were married in Maui, Hawaii in June of 2003. She was also a teacher at East up until her death in September 2015. My wife battled cancer three times. I’m Blessed to have a niece and nephew from her side of the family that live in Omaha.
I am a HUGE sports fan. I am a devoted Husker, and I am also a loyal fan of Duke Blue Devil Basketball, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Atlanta Braves.
I love East High School, and think the students and faculty are the best around.
GO BIG BLUE!!!
