Every Student, Every Day, Success with a Smile
Welcome to the Belmont Elementary Website!! Belmont Elementary is home of the Belmont Cougars, the best learners in the city of Lincoln. Our priority continues to be student learning, insuring every student is challenged to achieve or exceed grade level district and state expectations. We will accept no limits on the learning potential of any child and we do it with great joy and passion. “Every Student, Every Day, Success with a Smile.”
At Belmont, we provide a safe, orderly, respectful environment, which promotes high levels of student engagement and performance. We honor the diversity and unique strengths and talents of each student while planning for individual success. There are two guiding principles for acceptable behavior at Belmont: it is never okay to be hurtful; and it is never okay to be disruptive. We strive to implement common expectations and procedures across the building that are taught at the beginning of the year and revisited throughout the year.
Belmont Elementary is a Title I School serving 650 multicultural students in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. 18.4% of our students participate in the English Language Learner program. 75.6% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Specialists serve Belmont students in music, art, library media, physical education and computer. At Belmont, we meet high learning and behavioral expectations. Special programs that are offered include ExCite, Early Childhood Special Education, all-day kindergarten, Reading Recovery, a Family Literacy program, TeamMates, Food Bank backpack program, math and literacy intervention support. Belmont Elementary also benefits from a Community Learning Center, offering numerous academic and enrichment clubs, as well as parent activities. We also have a parent group called the Belmont Family Association or BFA.
Sincerely,
