About Me

My name is Allison Mattern and I am extremely honored to be your child’s preschool teacher at Kloefkorn Elementary. I received a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 2009, and finished my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University in 2014. I’m in my seventh year teaching Preschool. Prior to teaching at Kloefkorn, I taught preschool for two years in North Platte, NE, and served as supervisor for Lincoln Parks and Recreation during SumFun. In the summers, I enjoy teaching preschool for the LPS migrant program. I’ve been a Family Educator at Kloefkorn since 2013.

There is never a dull moment when working with preschoolers. I love the excitement and awe that preschoolers emulate when they learn something new. Children keep me energized; their perspective helps me understand and appreciate the world.

I enjoy dancing, running, time spent at Lake McConaughy, keeping plants alive, and art in all forms. My husband and I stay busy navigating home improvement and DIY projects in our one hundred (plus) year old home.

Preschool is where it’s at- I love what I do!
