Resonance – Varsity Show Choir

*******************************************************

Commonly asked questions:

Q: When does Resonance rehearse?

A: During the 3B class period every day (every other day if you are enrolled in Wind Ensemble/Chamber Choir), and Tuesday afternoons from 5-7pm starting August 20th.

Q: What are the dates for Resonance’s Choreography Camp?

A:
Already done!

Q: How come it costs so much to participate in show choir?

A: Costs are based on the actual costs of hotels, costumes, competition entrance fees, busing costs, choreographer costs, and T-Shirts.

Q: Why don’t we use Showdown money to cover the costs of participation?
A: Simply put,….we do use Showdown money to cover the cost of participation….just not the way most families would think. It costs each student far more than $600 to participate if you factor in the costs of riser up-keep, microphone up-keep, construction of boxes, stairs, and other set items, and clinician costs. These sort of costs are covered by Showdown profits and we HAVE used money to purchase risers, folders, transportation, partially funding Choir Trips to Chicago (Wheaton, FAME Chicago).

I hope this helps families understand how we “do business” at Southwest. If you have further questions, please e-mail me and I’ll do my best to answer them.
