O (Opener): Ms. A conferenced with students on their personal progress in regards to the core text(s) and journal entries located in their packets.

ML (Mini-Lesson): Ms. A read aloud the short passage “Steve Biko “.  Afterwords, students discovered the main idea.

C (Core Lesson): Students began to read independently.  A Warrior’s Heart: Pages 158-167/Outcasts United: Pages 156-170.
